Please explain me the difference between point 2 and 3 and if point 2 already specifies the profit of financial year upto the preceding quarter then what is the need of point 2 ? The sources for declaring interim dividend include: 1.Surplus in the profit and loss account; or 2.Profits of the financial year in which such dividend is sought to be declared; or 3.Profits generated in the financial year till the quarter preceding the date of declaration of the interim dividend.
