According to the Indian Contract Act, 1872, a contract is formed when there is an offer, acceptance, and consideration. In this case, Shambhu Dayal started a "self-service" system in his shop, where customers can choose articles and pay at the cashier. Smt. Prakash entered the shop, took articles of her choice, and reached the cashier for payment. In a self-service system, the customer's act of taking articles and reaching the cashier for payment can be considered an offer to buy. However, for a contract to be formed, there must be acceptance by the seller. In this case, the cashier refused to accept the price, indicating a lack of acceptance. Therefore, Shambhu Dayal cannot be compelled to sell the said articles to Smt. Prakash because there was no acceptance of her offer to buy. The self-service system allows the seller to have the final say in accepting or rejecting the offer.

According to the Indian Contract Act, 1872, an invitation to offer is not the same as making an offer. Shambhu Dayal's "self-service" system is an invitation to offer, not an offer itself. Therefore, he is not obligated to sell the articles to Smt. Prakash at the price she expects.

When Smt. Prakash articles of her choice into the basket reached the cashier for payments it amount to offer and when cashier accepts money it will become contract. As cashier refuses to accept the price there is not contract and hence Shambhu Dayal cannot be compelled to sell the said articles to Smt.

It is a invitation to offer not an original offer . In case of invitation to offer a seller can refused to the buyer for selling the goods . In this case buyer can't be suit against seller.

Ji it is invitation to offer and not an actual offer in invitation to offer the seller won't have any intention to sell the goods as soon as the other party agrees but he has intention to communicate on certain terms Mr.prakash by picking said articles gave offer to shambu Dayal for that offer shambu Dayal rejected to give acceptance hence there is no contract and shambudayal is not layable to sell the said articles
