Partial Integration of Agricultural Income: Applicable in Old Regime Only: Partial integration is relevant only under the old tax regime. It is not applicable under the default (new) tax regime. Agricultural Income: It is exempt u/s 10(1) in both regimes. However, in the old regime, if: Non-agricultural income exceeds the basic exemption limit, and Agricultural income exceeds ₹5,000, then partial integration is done to calculate tax on non-agricultural income. PGPB Income: If the assessee has PGBP income (e.g. business profits), that income is always taxable under both regimes. Only agricultural income is considered for partial integration in the old regime. Partial integration applies only in the old regime. PGBP income is taxable under both regimes. Agricultural income remains exempt, but may affect tax under partial integration in the old regime only.
