As you can see here gift is taxable therefore we didn't consider the period of holding of mr. X (2002-2024)in computation of period of holding for mr.Y In case the gift is received by Ywhere it is not taxable in hands of Y (for e.g received by will, inheritance) then you can combine the period of holding of mr.X as well in POH for mr.Y(2002-2025) in that case u will get LTCG but here it is taxable so it is STCG (2024-2025)
