Is Mechanical pencil allowed in Maths at Foundation level to solve on Question paper

Bro in my past attempt while I am bubbling with mechanical pencil, invigilator has seen it and said to bubble with pencil and I said yes sir it is pencil only then he said ok. But I suggest you to carry a HB pencil because all the centres may not be the same .
