See, Probability of getting 6 = 1/6 (let it be x) Probability of not getting 6 = 1-1/6 = 5/6 (let it be y) Now while making sample space we will see at what throw will 6 come... So if in 1st throw 6 comes = x In second thrown = xy In third throw = xy² (y² for 6 not coming 2 times, x for 6 coming) So it is forming a G.P = {x ,xy , xy² , xy³, ... } Now we will solve this G.P and we get the ans 6 (no. of throws)
