Using C, P, we get x= 1 + a + a ^ 2 +...... x = 1/(1 - a) y= 1 + b + b ^ 2 +...... y = 1/(1 - b) and Let P= 1 + ab + a ^ 2 * b ^ 2 + ...... P = 1/(1 - ab) and (xy)/(x + y - 1) = (1/(1 - a) * 1/(1 - b))/(1/(1 - a) + 1/(1 - b) - 1) (xy)/(x + y - 1) = 1/(1 - b + 1 - a - 1 + a + b - ab) = 1/(1 - ab) Since P = 1/(1 - ab) = (xy)/(x + y - 1) Hence Proved.
