4x-2x=7-3y x=3y-1 x+1=3y--- eq 1 3x-2x=3y-1 7-2x=3y -- eq 2 Now rhs is same for both eq. 7-2x=x+1 6=3x x=2 Putting value in eq2 2+1=3y y=1
